Royal Security Service Quality Control Plan

Royal Security Service maintains a professional and high-quality image while operating efficiently and "by the numbers." This is achieved through constant inspections, reviews and training. Quality control is performed primarily by RSS field supervisors.

Supervisors conduct random post inspections throughout each day. Each shift and officer is visited at least once every two days. Supervisors will document all contact with officers in the field. Supervisors log discrepancies in an officer's uniform, personal equipment, state licenses and written reports, in addition to patrolling the post for hazardous conditions, patrol checks or rules violations. To avoid future repetition, the supervisor then reviews all deficiencies with the officers on post. In addition, the supervisor determines if a more formal complaint should be written against the officer.

Approximately once a month, supervisors conduct a formal and unannounced uniform inspection of every officer. Twice a year, officers are given a formal evaluation of their performance. Monthly inspections and supervisors' log entries weigh heavily in this semi-annual report.

More serious incidents are documented and investigated by management. This investigation will either exonerate the officer or require some form of discipline. The discipline process allows the officer to be placed on probation during which time the problem is either corrected, suspended, or terminated.

Finally, training and re-qualifications are conducted throughout the year in the area of firearms, fitness, self-defense, legal issues and tactics, which every officer must attend at least twice a year. While attending these training courses, any officer performance deficiencies can be discovered and corrected immediately on the spot.
