Our principal services consist mainly of either standing sentry officers or vehicle patrol.
Unarmed Officers: Commonly seen at residential communities or office/retail locations. The primary objective of these officers is to observe and report. Their tasks can always be extended to a wide variety of duties, such as parking enforcement, access control, event support, escort officer, and as a visual deterrence to trespassers and/or vagrants.
An unarmed officer is allowed to carry a full duty belt, except for a firearm. Some officers will carry O/C Spray (Pepper Spray), a set of handcuffs, baton, and a flashlight. The equipment to be used at a location is primarily the choice of the client and secondary of the officer (with company consent).
Our minimum requirements to become an unarmed security officer are: must be 18 or over; must possess a valid guard card issued by The Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS), which protects consumers by licensing and regulating security guards and security related companies; and must have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
Armed Officers:
Often used for higher risk situations our armed officers are seen commonly guarding high profile accounts (such as special events and VIP’s) they also deal directly with responding to alarm activations and are the primary choice of personnel hired for vehicle patrol.
An armed officer is allowed to carry a full duty belt (same as an unarmed officer) with the addition of a firearm and magazines. Many officers wear a protective Kevlar vest as well while on duty. Officers are not issued weapons by the company but are required to maintain a proficient level of skill in handling, safety and firing of their weapon.
The same minimum requirements of an unarmed officer are expected of armed officers as well as additional safety training in proper handling of situations and of their weapon. The State of California also requires an armed security officer to apply for a permit to carry their weapon (exposed) and to complete a minimum of two shooting qualifications with a certified rangemaster every year.
